Minecraft Mob Guide – Snow Golem
Be sure to RATE, COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE! The Snow Golem is a defensive utility mob that can really help keep your streets (that you may or may not have built) clean. Snow Golems are the game’s first utility mob, which Notch defines as any player-created mob. They are friendly to their creator. Snow Golems are created using pumpkins and snow blocks, and will throw snowballs at enemy mobs. As Snow Golems move, they leave a trail of snow on the ground, except in Plains, Beaches, Swamp, Mushroom Island, Desert, and Jungle biomes, and the Nether. If a Snow Golem walks over a mushroom, the mushroom will be destroyed and dropped as an item. Snow Golems do not take fall damage. Once killed, the Snow Golem will drop a maximum of 15 snowballs. Like endermen, Snow golems take damage upon contact with water.

Minecraft Essentials: Combat Tips – Critical Strike
Please take a moment to RATE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE! Thank you! Welcome to Minecraft Essentials, a series of tips and tricks helpful to veterans and newbies delivered in bite-size videos. This series is split to cover two detailed topics, helpful Minecraft Tricks and deadly Combat Tips. Your ability in combat can be vastly improved with a little bit of knowledge here and there. Knowledge of ‘Critical Strikes’ can greatly improve your ferocity in combat. A critical strike deals over double damage for most tools and weapons, and is performed by attacking whilst falling. In melee, a critical hit occurs when a player attacks a mob while falling. The attack deals 50% more (rounded down) plus one heart of damage. This can be done by jumping. It can also be combined with sprinting to knock back the mob, although there is no extra knockback for a critical hit. In an Abandoned Mine Shaft, a player may choose to jump into a cobweb. At the cost of mobility, the player will be granted a major damage increase, as cobwebs greatly extend the time the player falls. This same tactic can also be used when descending in water.

Minecraft Essentials – Combat Technique: Sprint Strike
Welcome to Minecraft Essentials, a series of tips and tricks helpful to veterans and newbies delivered in bite-size videos. Your ability in combat can be vastly improved with a little bit of knowledge here and there. Knowledge of this ‘Sprint Strike’ and how it can be used effectively can greatly boost your effectiveness in any combat situation, especially if you’re unarmed. Sprinting is a feature in Beta 1.8, which allows the player to run faster, around 5.6 meters/second. This is about 30% faster than the normal walking speed of around 4.3 m/s. The player sprints by double tapping the “Forward” key (W by default) and then holding it. It is possible to jump across four blocks horizontally (although difficult), instead of the usual two blocks by sprinting, however the jump height is no higher than normal. If the player hits a mob while sprinting, the Mob is knocked back much further away, similar to the effect of a “Knockback I” enchantment on a sword.

Minecraft Essentials: Fishing Rod Combat
Welcome to Minecraft Essentials, a series of tips and tricks helpful to veterans and newbies delivered in bitesize videos. This video will let you HAVE SOME FUN by killing mobs with a fishing rod, how awesome! Fishing Rods can hook any mob and drag it towards the player. (Although Mobs in Water or Lava will not move far due to the slowdown of the fluid.) Although the hurt animation plays and passive mobs will run away as if you attacked them, it deals no damage to the mob. Fishing Rods take triple durability damage when reeling a mob. Reeling it up will cause the mob to be pulled towards the caster at a very fast rate. Players can take advantage of this to impart vertical momentum onto the mob when reeled at great height, dealing enough fall damage for a guaranteed death (except for chicken, ghasts, blazes and snow golems as they do not take falling damage). The fishing rod can also be used on tamed wolves to act as a sort of leash, although it won’t move the wolf anywhere for long. Bobbers can be hooked onto a wolf and if it teleports back to the player, the bobber will still be present. A great way to use this is also to shoot a mob with it then go to lava and place it between the mob and yourself and then reel the line causing the mob to get pulled into the lava. It can be assumed this functionality is for pulling future Fish Mobs(such as th current mob, the Squid) out of water. Unfortunately, fishing rods cannot be used to pull back/up players, making them useless in PVP.
