Minecraft Mob Guide – Ghast
Be sure to RATE, COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE! The Ghast is the giant, weeping monster of the Nether with cries that echo for all to hear. Firing great balls of fire (no pun intended) at any who dare cross between the realms. Ghasts are very large, jellyfish-like mobs that float through the air and shoot fireballs from their mouths. Their bodies are 4.5 blocks tall, 4 blocks wide, and 4 blocks thick cubes with 9 tentacle-like limbs hanging from the bottom. They first appeared in the Halloween Update. Ghasts are able to spawn above any non-transparent block in the Nether, as long as there is sufficient space (at least a 4*4*4 cube, with the base centered above a solid block) and the game is not in Peaceful mode. Minecraft Mob Guide – The Skeleton
Please take a moment to RATE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE! The Skeleton is the undead archer of the night. This video goes into detail about these bow-wielding fiends. This is the forth episode in a series of Minecraft Mob Guides, where we look at all the hostile AND passive mobs in Minecraft in detail. In this episode, we take a look at the Skeleton, the rattling bones that roams the night. Skeletons, whilst quite fragile and weak alone, will actually turn out to be one of your most common causes of death in the overworld due to their very high damage to an unarmored, unsuspecting opponent. A skeleton is a fairly fast-paced enemy that will shoot arrows at the player and any mobs that attack it. Like zombies, skeletons spawn in dimly lit areas, and will burn in daylight (when the sun is 15 degrees or greater above the ground) unless they are swimming in water or are standing in the shade. For example, underneath a tree, outcropping of a mountain or player-built structure. The skeleton has received an AI update in version 1.2 that allows them be about as “smart” as zombies, since they were both given similar AI updates. Skeletons now seek cover when on fire, and can perform many other “smarter” actions. Minecraft Essentials: Combat Tips – Critical Strike

This series is split to cover two detailed topics, helpful Minecraft Tricks and deadly Combat Tips. Your ability in combat can be vastly improved with a little bit of knowledge here and there. Knowledge of ‘Critical Strikes’ can greatly improve your ferocity in combat. A critical strike deals over double damage for most tools and weapons, and is performed by attacking whilst falling. In melee, a critical hit occurs when a player attacks a mob while falling. The attack deals 50% more (rounded down) plus one heart of damage. This can be done by jumping. It can also be combined with sprinting to knock back the mob, although there is no extra knockback for a critical hit. In an Abandoned Mine Shaft, a player may choose to jump into a cobweb. At the cost of mobility, the player will be granted a major damage increase, as cobwebs greatly extend the time the player falls. This same tactic can also be used when descending in water.
