the wafer reduces all damage to half a heart, which means that things that usually do a whole heart of damage only do half (charged shots, heart donation machines in the womb, etc..) And lets you buy any item in a devil room with half of a soul heart.

hmm.. JC, you should use your yum heart much more often, as the yum heart takes 3 rooms to recharge and is infinite, as normal hearts aren’t. So say that you were at half a heart, you use your heart, and there is no more hearts, since you used them to spare the item. Then another situation, where you used your item more often instead of getting normal hearts you would survive much easier!
