Map Height Bug w/ Portals – Minecraft 1.1+1.2
I noticed a small bug related to the increase map height in Minecraft 1.1 + 1.2 (the snapshots 12w07a, 12w07b, and 12w08a). I had built a floating island above the old sky-cap in my LP map, but the portals would not return to the correct portal location up on the floating island… they would create a new portal near down at ground level. After some further testing, I realized that they have not yet updated portals to enable them to teleport you anywhere above the old sky-cap map height. Mobs On Demand (Q&A Follow-Up)

Minecraft Essentials – How to find Diamonds / Level 12 Mining
Welcome to Minecraft Essentials, a series of tips and tricks helpful to veterans and newbies delivered in bitesize videos. This video will give some very helpful tips on how to use your Golden Tools more efficiently. Diamond Ore is generally considered to be one of the most valuable and elusive blocks in the game. It can be mined for a diamond gem using an Iron or Diamond Pickaxe. Diamond ore can be obtained by the enchantment Silk Touch on a pickaxe. Therefore you can use the Diamond ore block to create traps or even decoration. Alternatively you can collect it to save for later to collect with a Fortune enchantment. But the trouble is it’s elusiveness. This Level 12 Mining technique greatly helps you find them. You also find many other useful minerals and enough cobblestone for 4 Castles! The best kind of mining for diamonds!

Minecraft – Darkness Falls – Part 5
In this new series the Crew must save the world of Minecraft from an evil dragon who has cast a spell turning the world to eternal darkness. The Crew are the only heroes near the dragons home and have only one day cycle before it is night forever. Our band of heroes must stay alive and reach the end, kill the evil dragon, and save the world of Minecraft! The difficulty is set up for this series, and if you die a remaining player must sacrifice a diamond in lava to bring that player back in the game. On your second death two diamonds must be sacrificed and so on. If all players die before someone can be brought back, the game is over, and the world of Minecraft stays dark forever.
