If you want to make single emeralds from the Tinker’s Construct smeltery,
you can make a gem cast with one emerald in a casting table and pooring an
ingot of aluminum-brass or gold around it. You can then cast single
emeralds directly.
It’s probably faster to cast the emeralds in blocks and break them down in
a crafting grid though. You can pipe the liquid emerald straight into a
casting basin or -table. and then pull the items out the bottom once they
solidify.
The oreberries don’t work well in light places, as you said, so you really
should try to put those in a dark place. You may want to look into Blackout
Curtains if you have Extra Utilities in the modpack. Also look into
sprinklers from OpenBlocks. They help growing lots of stuff. Even more so
with added fertilizer. Lamps of Growth from Thaumcraft also work well, but
that takes a lot of Herba essentia.
If you go the Thaumcraft conversion way, convert (char)coal and cobble into
Alumentum and use that to fuel your Alchemical Furnaces. This tremendously
speeds up the breaking down process.
Also, you can put labels on your Alembics to help route the different
essentia easier, also making sure that a type of essentia will always end
up in the specific alembic, just like it works for jars.
Alumentum is volatile, and thus can also be weaponised. But even if you
just use it for fuel, it’s well worth the effort. It has a much larger heat
capacity than the coal that goes in making it.
Also, you can make golems for base defense with a guard animation core. You
can instruct them to go kill everything in sight but yourself. Give them
dart launchers or a mace arm, armor and visors. Add fire, water, earth,
water and/or entropy upgrade(s), where needed.
For your railway defense, you might also want to look at the different
weapon options you have on carts. Takes a long time to make decent Steve’s
Carts though.

That’s a brilliant system . you could of used the lamp of growth on the
ore berries and you would have got so much ores but this system is so so so
much better and brilliant . although I think both of those systems are kind
of OP .

For your ore berrys there is something in thaumcraft that makes stuff grow
faster. and when I say fast I mean FAST!!!!

to get the armor out of system couldn’t you just put the right clicking
machine with vials in to right click the armor jar so it would put the
essentia to the vials and then put the vials in a barrel or something?

to get the emeralds, use the cauldren thing from tinkers construct, and use
a pipe to suck the emeralds into it,and have a hopper under it.

Etho, aren’t you able to put the iron boots you get in the Tinkerer’s
Construct smeltery to get iron?

You put all of your Thaumcraft nuggets into the chest. That’s why you
didn’t get the automatic supply. I guess you’ve figured this out already,
but I thought I might as well say it.

does this version of tinkers construct have the yellow heart canisters if
so etho should get to wither grinding cause i know the wither drops yellow
hearts for yellow heart canisters dont know what drops the green hearts
though

Etho, use alumentum in the alchemical furnace, it speeds up the collection
of the purple goop.
