I have to say your kinda wasting diamonds then saving them by combining those picks right away. If I were you, I would use those fortune 3 picks at least with the efficiency get them down to about half way or so and then combine them to get a brand new pick out of it and you still got use out of them. And then that one pick just using it till it breaks is a waste cause if you combine it with a pick about the same damage level you get a little bit more back so you actually gain more uses.

You had efficiency 4 and 3 and those are bad picks? Efficiency is the only perk you need on your tools, unbreaking is just a boost. Also if the unenchant glitch with the chest minecarts still works you should use that instead. :)

Also I think with the newest updates they fixed it more so that animals don’t glitch out as easily. They did it worse on SMP till the recent update.
