Good going. I used amidst too partly because I simply don’t have enough time to explore the vast distances, & partly because the minecraft maps are very limited in that you can’t make multiple versions to span territory off the first.
You know, if you just place a bed out in the open and sleep right at sunset, no mobs will spawn outdoors, so new chunks will be mob free except for sunless places. Eliminates the hidey hole altogether and keeps the outdoors as safe as your first day in minecraft.

@xisumavoid Thanks, man. Just trying to contribute what I can because I am in full support of your hard work and high quality output and learn lots in return.
The zombs will do that if they’ve already spawned and wandered too near you; the trick for no mobs at all is to hit the bed right when the sun hits the horizon. Those rude awakenings also happen as a glitch when you put the head of your bed against a one wide wall.

@xisumavoid no wonder i never saw creepers in the morning, i always spam click the bed at sunset until it let me sleep, unless im in a mood for killing lots of mobs
