The light from the redstone torch on your vertical wiring will produce light that will decrease spawn rates. Also If you place any blocks on the level one above your spawning pads (even on the outside) the spawning rates will be decreased. Be careful Monkey!

I think the only way it could be made funnier is to, then, shoot the eggs out using droppers and make like target shot to a single dropper :P
