get the butterfly net from the merchant. you can catch butterflies and
beetles worms or grasshoppers by destroying grass or little stones on the
surface.

You need to buy a bug net at the merchant then if you swig the bug net at
any insect you will get it and then you can use it as bait ;)

my only problem with terraria is that I get bored with late game stuff too
easy. for some reason I just lose interest after I beat the wall of flesh.

I got 2 solar eclipses while watching Paul’s videos… because Paul totally
forgot the confetti gun is single use in the last video as well lol. But
yeah… solar eclipses, them’s bad events, maybe Paul should try to unlock
Hardmode by beating Wall of Flesh, get even better gear and more random
events such as… Pirate invasion!
Also it’s best to build your npc homes up in the sky a bit of a distance
away from the ground so they won’t all get slaughtered if you do the
events.
