I watched some other people play, and I know your havering troubles with
digging through the mountain in the south, well most people just blocked it
off, but some people actually used it in creative ways, I actually saw
someone make a maze, the AI led the enemy through the maze, but at the end
bye the time the enemy made his/her way he gave himself time to prepare

Um, paul, the room at the bottom left is disconnected from everything
because you took out the door……
Plus, anything that stores energy needs to be connected together. Anything
that USES power can be 5 blocks away from a power source. Hope you see dis
comment. Very helpful.

In order for your colonists to clean the blood and rocks in your base you
have to go into the zones tab and select home region and drag it over your
base to set the areas you want. They will clean whatever is in the area and
also put out fires and repair things which is useful. I haven’t played the
game in a while but I’d usually have someone be on cleaning duty
constantly. I’d raise the priority of that job and it worked pretty well
keeping things clean.

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!!

Your assumption at 9:35ish is mostly correct if its deep enough in a
mountain, Mr. Soares. if you hold your cursor over the tile with both the
colonist and architect menus closed, there’s the extra info section in the
bottom left, which will say if there’s a natural roof. To play it safe or
if there’s not, you could always place an unpowered door and seal it into a
room. It will act as a conduit, but not waste 25 MWatts of power like those
autodoors. Without the “central Heating” mod, you will need every joule
you can get as every room will need a heater and maybe cooler, and those
coolers munch up 200 MW each! By the way… did your refrigerator (see the
other comments below about freezing) have an auto door? It will slow down
the heat gain when Marc pops in for ingredients a tiny weeny bit…
Oh, and if you have time later get into devilstrand cloth gear. It takes
well over 20 days to grow, so Cassie will probably massacre your crops with
blights a few thousand times so make the fields large, maybe in a sunlamp
greenhouse… Its basicly silk., so more bullet and bite proof than
leather (a la kevlar). Cotton is great for carpets, and parkas as they
have very little armour value and the cotton grows just as fast as a
potatoe, but a decent set of devilstrand shirts and trousers will keep your
poor colonists safe(er) from harm. Or, since they want to be fassionable
fronteersmen, how about fine buttoned shirts, and dusters for summer?
Cowboy hats a bit much? Hmm… You decide…
Sincerely, AlexisRoger.
Ps, since the cotton grows fast, you could use that for income perhaps…
Check those bulk traders, maybe one is a habberdasher who wants to buy
exotic clothes….

Just wanted to say that hospital beds are worthwhile, especially if your
healers aren’t the best, but they do take a lot of resources to build (10
medkits plus a ton of whatever you are building them out of)

Why is half of the freezer blue?

The one thing I’ve never understood about this game is how someone can be
able-bodied, be able to fight, yet unable to clean/perform dumb labor (like
Nobles). I know trait assignment is random, but I think they should throw
that trait out.

Hospital beds are VERY good, unless they changed something, they increase
the rate in which someone heals, with or without first aid kits. First Aid
kits REALLY help but yes, I’d go for hospital beds.

Perhaps not the right place for this, but Paul, what do you think of the
game called Rising World? It’s survival-crafting-adventure-sandbox,
seemingly right up your alley. It’s still very early Alpha (little survival
yet, while you can already build a lot), but IMO already looks good. Maybe
you can check it out?

If you cook fine meals you’re probably going to be better off since it only
takes 5 vegetables and 5 meat vs a whole 10 of a single type of ingredient.
Or you can just do the highest quality one (lavish?) but that takes 10 of
each type. You probably have enough food to do those if your cook can make
em. I usually stick with the fine ones though since they’re pretty resource
efficient.

Hey Paul. I just looked back and the last minecraft video you uploaded was
over two months ago and myself and many others are wondering if you are
leaving minecraft. Thank you

Paul, great to see Rimworld back! Love the game and love watching you play
it :D
Also, it’s not that hospital beds aren’t great, in fact they can be a
lifesaver (literally) when your colonists inevitably receive lethal and/or
lasting injuries that need fast and proper treatment, or if they get
terribly sick. It’s just that they’re quite expensive to build; you have to
make them out of steel (at least), and they also require medicine
(medboxes, not herbal) to construct them which probably is more valuable as
a usable resource to treat your colonists then as a building material in
this early stage of the colony. Basically they are worth it, when you can
afford them.
Also, as your colony grows, make sure you have a good amount of beds
assigned as medical, and assign more than one doctor. You don’t want
someone who has lost an arm and is bleeding to death to run around the
colony trying to work because there isn’t enough medical beds. ;P
