I just tried this in SP 1.1 and it isn’t working. The gate just stays closed and the cart (with me in it) stops. Any idea why?

ok… now it started working on its own. the cart just looped for a while then it suddenly stopped at the gate, and now it’s working… something to do with timing and the tick?

this would be good for minecart stations :D

I just tried this and it’s not working in 1.1. the gate never stops the cart,with or without me in it. sometimes it stops for just a second then the gate opens…

the collision mask on the fence gate is not square, but rectangular. Hence the minecart is stopped further from the power rail than when it is placed sideways. When then opening the fence gate the minecart only has the natural acceleration due to the angle of the slope for the first split second, before it travels onto the detector rail, making it a slower system.

You could have the cart show down to give the user time to activate a switch track that takes them off of the main route.

@MrFroZen23
This can give your dispenser a more ‘walled in’ look rather than an open powered rail hole.

This is a lifesaver..I was going nuts trying to wire a pistol gate for my rollarcoaster and this works perfectly! Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!

The sloped detector rail is already a player detector.
Just saying :D

you should try to make a storage and normal cart sorter with glass panes ore something
February 13th, 2012 at 5:28 PM
I’m guessing it goes slower because sideways, the fence gates are larger, so it stops you before the powered rail, whereas straight on, you land on the edge of it

Sethbling was just passing by and dropped me off here

so does this work in smp? because hatches wont hold carts on a slope in smp. At least not for longer than about 5 seconds. Then the cart magically goes through the hatches.
February 13th, 2012 at 5:33 PM
If it’s sideways there is only enough time for one cart to go through, thus this would be perfect if people use the pez dispenser method for carts and railways.
