I suggest using a redstone block BUDS (if you can get silk touch). Hook it tup to the door and It works like a button but lasts longer.

Minecraft is a sandbox game. It is impossible to “suck” at it, because the objectives, rules and guidelines are set down by you, as the player.

you haven’t played in a while have you :P. they changed the wheat mechanics in back in 1.1, you can walk and run on them without trampling them, only jumping on it will trample it now. You can turn off head bobbing in the settings lol.

How come your items don’t bob when you walk and how do you walk on the wheat and not trample it because your not holding shift.

Well I know the answer for your second question -how do the wheat not trample-. It’s a part of the 1.0.0 full update (that’s old update now) that wheat does not trample if you don’t jump, just walk.
