The reason why you didn’t see magmar evolve but you saw haunter evolve is
because when you traded the pokemon haunter was yours and magmar wasn’t.

think the leaf/fire/water stone are “advanced” evolution? try evolution
through hapiness at differet times, ie night or day. only wa to get umbreon
and espion and some pokemon only evolve by being uber happy, Wynaut to
Wabbufett is a good example.
