put the thereter in its first place but make an indoor pool at that ugly wall but make the pool open instead of coverd up so but with glass sorta like a green house

Make the button have a redstone clock and it sounds note blocks and lights

Dig 5 blocks under the ice and place a dirt/grass block then a torch ontop then a glass block. the light will shine through the glass and melt the ice whilst keeping the torch
