Worldedit is easy, you get SPC for a single player world, or get permissions on a bukkit server. Right and left click on the furthest corners to set a region. If you only want to replace wood, type //replace wood {block you want}, but if you want to change all of it, type //set {block}

if you want to change it from wood to say glass mark your region and the type //set glass :)
