I would suggest setting up a tombstone for some imaginary pet, which has “diamond” in its name, having a trapped chest there with a diamond block, then have a few notes of “never gonna give you up” play on them, and then have them explode –> rick-rolled into explosion :)

What if you leave the hill in the center than place The Tower of Doom there or something? Like in LOTR and Steven King’s Gunslinger. When you travel through wastelands you always get to a tower at the end of your quest ;) it’s only natural! ;P

Holy smoke, that’s a crazy but awesome project Xisuma! I really look forward to it. I think you should leave the mountains for now to have some variation and landmarks. Also, looking at the rivers, it might look cool to leave them on something that looks like an aqueduct.

1) torch mine the sand. 2) you should make the base entrance through the temple, or like a temple, but modified to represent you more. (Dif wool pattern and colours)

Have a ground level entrance that looks like the Cheyenne Mountain Complex. It would definitely fit the theme.
