I love the gallows!
For a more authentic gallows, remove the beheading and keep it to a single
pole. Permanent gallows for more than one execution were rare on the
frontier, and most towns made do with a tree. When multiple hangings
occurred, it was usually in larger jurisdictions or the gallows they built
were temporary. So if you want to be super authentic figure out how to
suspend a noose from a tree.
