Etho I re-created a similar design but I used log instead of wool.

Etho you can use both iron bars and glass panes in order to stay in the middle. Thumbs up so he can see!

dear etho you could go faster if yo removed the sandstone blocks under and over the dispenser because u only get the jump boost when there’s an air block in front of u

I actually use this pretty often.
I also figured it out when I had no blocks on me.
The only thing though is that you are aiming below and trying to place the watter above you after you grabbed it. But if you place the water as high as possible and just before you get up to the source you can grab it. Since you’re already aiming up then it’s way easier to put it above.
