So now we cant repair our stuff forever because it will get too expensive
at some point, that really sucks, I dont understand why they did that…

I think there are enough myths about enchanting to make another episode
about it.
For example: Do golden swords still have better chance at getting looting?
If so, will putting a golden sword in an enchantment table, increase the
rates of getting fortune even if you then use that enchant on a diamond
sword? (because, as you said, the enchantment is predetermined as soon as
you put an item in.)
