Cocoa Bean Farm Tutorial – Minecraft
Minecraft jungle trees now produce cocoa beans in snapshot 12w19a, so it’s time to make a new farm design. Most designs I’ve seen arent very efficient and waste pistons and redstone, so I’ve designed a compact high-yield cocoa bean farm. You can power a block with both either with dust or with a repeater.

either you need the snapshot or its the wrong wood

Because with a repeater he can power the block directly under the piston, while dust cannot.
