@collasal45 Yeah I hate ghasts alot and it maximizes mob farm efficiency for my self substantiated life in the nether kind of like Red3yes.

@bloximonkey what point would be lost, besides minecraft is ever changing and there is no way to stop it. I mean redstone wise this is only better because it is cost effecient and takes less space (the lamp block)

@YoshiTheGreenOne It’s hard to put it in words. We used to make lights with glowstone and pistons, or redtorches for ticker displays. I like the idea of these ‘custom’ blocks, but if we are adding too much of these into the game (XP levels, potion brewing, enchanting, NPC interaction etc.) the whole point would be lost.

I’m loving the new snapshot. I’ve noticed a great performance increase, as well as the redstone lamps. This is the best update since 1.8 in my opinion.

@jcvsmc Actually, myself and some other people experienced the opposite, the new snapshot have huge lag spikes every once in a while and big lag with some redstone contraptions. I believe its all related to the light glitches. After that is fixed, I think we will have some great performance boost. :D
