Corruption only spreads in hardmode, after you have broken your first alter (demon or crimson). :3

You can easily defeat Eye of Cthulu with shurikens and then find a Vilethorn for Eater of Worlds. I see no point in grinding for stuff that will become obsolete very fast.

Vilethorn on Eater of Worlds and the fight will be over in seconds, specially if you can get a Thorns potion, it literally took me like 5 seconds.

when you get to hardmode rush any boss & craft drax, then find 1 chlorophyte ore & surround it in mud to ‘grow’ turtle armor sets forged in an adamintite furnace.
