Mobs On Demand – Minecraft LP #37
It took a few extra days, but my new spawner is complete. Though snapshot 12w06a has fixed the mob spinning/jumping problem, my new spawner is much better, and I’m happy with it. Instead of using gravity like my other ‘no water or pistons spawner’ this spawner uses a unique spawner pad floor design and water to wash the mobs down the hole into my XP farm. I think its 32 BLocks away they Freeze. I’m not sure though.

@DividingByZeron sorry, thought you meant xp. i have most of my caves lit up in the area… that decreases the areas outside of my spawner where mobs can spawn (fyi: my ‘mob spawner basics’ video shows a lot of those tips.

iv made like this to test it out n for somereason i only get about 15 mobs in it even with the area near full of torchs n caves any reason y that could be that they ant spawning

how many redstone and repeaters and (sticky)pistons did you use for the spawner

@1962Drako my terrain is updated, but john smith pack has animations that you have to delete some of the files if you want my texture to show up (eg. glowstone…) – (fyi: my custom john smith texture pack video shows this)

how many blocks do the mobs fall to get them to 1 hit kills?

@chaz2041 funny though… i was just testing the 12w06 snapshot, and they werent freezing even past 40 blocks… dont know if they changed it again.

@IceColdCast only a handful of repeaters, ~1 stack of redstone, and 20 pistons.

I’ve noticed that open fence gates work like signs used to :D I think if it stays like that I will start to use fence gates :3
