It’s not that bad if you use it right. In the old game, when your soldier saw an alien, he stopped, but in this game, if he sees one after you clicked a dash, he can park himself right next to the alien. End of turn, “Sup bro?”, plasma to the face, DIE! Plus, you can’t do anything else when you dash, overwatch for example (unless he’s a heavy with the right ability) and the soldier’s turn ends immediately =\

I got a similar mission to yours, and I got my first alien captured as well, on this map, a Muton too. but i had to sacrifice my Major Assault and a Lieutenant Support.
It was a tough battle. =[

And you might not like what you find at the end of the dash(if moving anywhere but back).

Your gonna have to, there are maps where cover are not within cover and overwatch, seen it with my own eyes. Best tactic, half are on overwatch and over, the other half move up an the next round the unit that moved up then goes into overwatch and cover the other half that stayed behind and have them move up. It is how they do it in the real battle too.

I agree with you! He is doing this as a hobby and does not have the obligation to do it the way his audience want but only he, and that’s the way we like it. I’ve seen lots of people complaining about paul is too slow uploading videos -or in this case, playing the game- but think he’s doing it by free! nobody is paying him so we can’t demand anything.
And Paul, I enjoy very much these vids and how you play! By the way, I’m improving my english watching them! So sorry if there’s any mistake! =D

btw, how do you interrogate? I’m stuck, not sure what to do.

You may be slow, but when you pwn those aliens like you did there, oooh man! Soooo satisfying to watch =]

Good rocket usage in this mission. Saved the Sniper. I think a lot of the problems Paul faces right now is due to being ‘new’ to how this cover system works. In classic, if aliens are around, I have everyone in full cover- and smoked if their close. Only exception is Snipers, who will be off in a corner where ‘full-cover’ obstacles aren’t blocking their field of fire.

I feel like the general public while watching these videos. You were on a really depressing run for a while but with this latest mission “my morale has been boosted”

Great vids as always Paul, love this xcom series. One thing though, your choice of episode titles are a bit of a spoiler. Last episode you left us with the great cliffhanger over trying to stun the muton, but before even watching this episode we know the result as its ‘alien captured.’ Same with previous episode, ‘Mutons in France’ We know you end up picking France as a location and know you encounter mutons, both detracted from the episode a little. Not so much complaint but suggestions to help

What is bad about a dash?
November 16th, 2012 at 8:12 AM
You can’t go into overwatch or shoot.

Once you have captured an alien with the arc thrower with a containment facility built you can interrogate that type of alien as one of the research projects.

It’s Fraps.
It costs $30 U.S

All I really like to see you do Paul is not make bad plays. Better yet, make very good plays like put the sniper on top of the truck despite there being no cover as no aliens could possibly see him. You allowed the sniper to see nearly the entire field.

yay you finally stunned an alien :DD

Better get to interrogating that muton, so you could have research access for the best weapons in-game.

Thank you very much Paul!!
