only on Packed Ice and Ordinary Ice

spawners also act like that, but no other block does unfortunately.

Just because it is solid doesn’t mean it will spawn mobs. Normal ice is solid but transparent, it doesn’t spawn mobs. Whereas packed ice is solid and opaque. So you WOULD have to do testing, but you don’t have to because of the above video. Down vote for being wrong.

Yeah, he’s aware. He mentioned that on some previous episodes. That said, he wanted to test these just to make sure, already pretty aware of the results.

how much damage would it do to your armor if you hit a player with thorns

Podzol is a nutrient poor soil, with a low pH level (Compared to other “normal” soil types). Plants like fx heather grow on it. So true, it is a type of soil, so it won´t spread!

Are endportal frames solid? I thought they weren’t, I frequently use them to cover beacons and they hardly have a full hitbox. Please, do correct me if I’m wrong.
Of course, the guy that you’re replying to was of course wrong, if just because ice isn’t the game’s definition of “solid”.

Wait, would blocking with swords reduce durability loss?
November 2nd, 2013 at 9:34 AM
Yes they are, and they also conduct redstone power.
The beacon beam can pass through blocks if its transparent, which it also is. You can actually place redstone on top of endportal frames, which looks hilarious too.
