Tic-Tac-Toe (Noughts and Crosses): Npc AI Logic Put Into Redstone Part 2.5 (Part 2 Redux)
I rework a vital component from the last video I recorded and come up with a solution I am happier with. This component operates a good deal of the Npc AI mechanics, so I wanted it to be perfect. I am totally thrilled with how it has turned out so far. Yeah, it has. Was using it for the recording. Just got stuck using creative for a good portion of that build since the idea to make it work came to me literally right after 1.1 rolled out.

@roboticaust Yes quite simple!

That’s essentially what the goal is here. I want to give it multiple data inputs and try picking between them, not to always pick one answer to the same problem every time. It is most noticeable in the strategy logic unit I haven’t recorded yet since some layouts of the board lead to multiple ways to trap the opponent to force a dual win; especially when the board is more open since their are a multitude of ways to go.

continuation…
I am actually working out a way to randomize the selection clocking in game as I type this, as well as a decent way of handling the actual random portion for if my other 3 logic units fail to output; namely due to the insanely staggering amount of moves on a TTT board, most of which I don’t feel need representation due to being bad moves. I don’t want it to feel like 1s and 0s when people play it by any means.

Okay i really don’t mean this as an insult but… You sound sad since your back almost if you want to start crying. So don’t get me wrong and if it is private just don’t answer but if you want to answer please. And about the logic… Still don’t get it ;p

@roboticaust Oh , I didn’t know it ! Thanks =D

I hate creative mode. I like having the extra inventory space plus I thoroughly dislike the fly mechanics of it. Void fog can be disabled by altering the particle effects or grabbing optifine once it updates to 1.1

Good ideas!

@Laurimun
In all fairness, your idea sparked the condensed down version of this. Originally the idea didn’t have the green part but rather ran through a series of piston controlled gates that spread outward from each d-flip flop. Only thing is, the condensing causes that hard to avoid “no data” problem when in certain configurations. But I already found a fairly elegant way to solve that after recording. Just need to build it :)

Wow dude! Really great job you did there! I’m impressed, I couldn’t get it to work :/

lol, negative. It was my old roomie and good friend John. He tends to message me about absolutely silly shit. So I got a pm that knocked me out of full screen at like 12 minutes in on one recording saying something about how awful some tv show pilot he just watched was.

Far from sad. Just how my mic picks up my voice. Doesn’t help I’m soft spoken and using my inside voice to boot. Anyone who Skypes with me can verify I sound like this all the time unless I get riled up lol. Also, stop not getting it >:O *total sarcasm implied*

It has its perks, but I find it more of a hindrance especially after growing so comfortable with spc over time. And yeah, I know about the tmi option and had to use it during the build since spc hadn’t updated yet. Just not a huge fan of using it. It’s more or less a last resort for me.
February 17th, 2012 at 7:51 PM
Hey roboticaust , just one suggestion . Put your Minecraft on Creative using the TMI so that you won’t be anoyed by the void fog . =)

@roboticaust Hey dude , I think SPC has updated to 1.1.0 =) But I don’t know if it has the option the take out the fog . =)

Hi Roboticaust how are you =) Have you ever considered using fuzzy logic for your NPC AI Mechanics

<3 Wait until you see this mess I’m making as I type this reply lol

Comes with the territory. Started off learning basic circuits to do simple things and progressed from there. The minecraftwiki (as much as I hate directing anyone to that site) has a semi decent list of starter gates that imitate real life components used in circuitry. For the more advanced stuff, the wiki just faulters big time.

@gudenaurock
Thanks man. Still keeping up? ;p

@roboticaust Wow I’m amazed! But how do you know all the terms? Is it really searching every site, every youtube video and then trying in minecraft? How long did it take? Anyway that’s awesome to see that you can learn so much just by putting in a lot of time! You inspire me man! Bye and keep up this awesome stuff!
