This is a nice design but it could be improved. for the block that shears the cactus, instead of directly using the block, place the block inthe middle of 4 cacti having each corner of the block touch the corner of a cacti. Then place signs on all 4 sides of the block. This gives the cactus item a slightly higher chance of not being destroyed. It costs 8 less blocks and 16 signs per row extra I believe but it does help.

ahh..this one is actually not very useful….
the drops disappear after 5 minutes, so the only way you can get cactus is to afk in the middle, and nobody wants to go afk for cactus, would really like a semi-automatic design instead….

Instead, dig four blocks down and put water on the bottom and a sign on the third with lava on the fourth so if you fall in you won’t die.

@Atmocrafter What if you want to make a giant wool creeper? you’ll need the green dye from the cactus, mebbe you want to make a cactus wall? Then you can have plenty and can expand easily.
