I’m really glad you said you were gonna do an LP on this because it looks
great, but $30 is too steep for me at the moment. Maybe I’ll spend some
Christmas cash on it…

+paulsoaresjr you are skirting around the bush now Paul lol, one of these
days you will just give in and take the Dwarf Fortress plunge… then you
will see why you like these types of games!! lol the grand dad of Rimworld
awaits you paul… it is calling!

I don’t want to say that I’m getting tired of Dwarf Fortress clones, but I
will say that none of them have really captured the *FUN* of Dwarf
Fortress.

+paulsoaresjr 17:13 Hey Paul, the red is where heat is outputted and the
blue is where the cold is outputted (or vice versa). A cooler has to put
the heat somewhere!

Kind of surprised paul didn’t look at this game earlier.

There is a win or lose in this game heh.
Win by escaping on a ship.
Lose by having everyone die.
Temperature is such a big deal now. The red thing you saw on the cooler is
the “exhaust”, where hot air comes out. So if you make a cold room, you’ll
need to have the heat go into another room, or just send it outside.

this game was sooooo hard for me. My people kept getting shot by my other
people.
And the ability to not stack “chores” is annoying.

Hey Paul, I wanna know how you find these indie games that aren’t on steam?
Do you search something on google or what? Thanks!

I am so glad you’ve checked this game out.
It really is fantastic, the community and developer are excellent and the
game is worth sinking time into.
I myself have been working on a pretty in depth Let’s Play of this game.

Paul, you should try out risk of rain. It’s one of my favorite games i’ve
ever played, and it seems like a game you would like. it’s a sort of a
rogue like platformer where you try to go though levels and collect items
on an unknown planet, and beat the boss of each levels. The game is SUPER
hard at first, but you get used to it after a while. I would love to see
one of my favorite games come to your channel, and it’s $10.00 on steam.
you should try it Paul!

A bit pricey. Maybe someday I can buy it for $5 or less. It does look
interesting. :)

Coolers can be a bit difficult to get the hang of, but they need to be
built as part of a wall, with the blue tile facing into whatever room
you’re trying to cool. If the red tile is inside, then it’ll heat whatever
room it’s in as it cools the other. If the red tile is outside, then the
heat will just get vented into the environment with no real effects.
Anyway, you’re going to need a decent-sized walk-in freezer (make sure the
temperature is set significantly below freezing, 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit
should be plenty), for the winter.
Heat also slowly transfers through closed doors, and quickly through open
ones. This means that if you build some rooms for your colonists, putting a
heater in the hallway will also slowly warm the rooms.
Oh, and ~1,200 potatoes and assorted meat from hunting only lasted from
October to January in my game, but I also had 8 people at that point.
Fortunately a herd of deer showed up at the last second, and now I also
have the bodies of the latest wave of tribals in a freezer as a last resort.
Also, be careful with your windmills. If trees or other obstructions are in
the box you see when you select them, it will reduce the airflow, and
significantly reduce their power. If you have the resources, you might want
to build a floor so trees don’t pop up every month or two.
And a last tip, most food will spoil in 5 days at room temperature.
Potatoes last 30.

the art style used reminds me of prison architect how the characters look i
mean moving/in bed

I think there is an end game actually. I believe the “goal” is to build a
rocket to get off the planet or something like that.
