Redstone and Glowstone. Example with super fast piston elevator
I ahve been testing a bit with the new feature of the glowstone block where it can transfer power trough it but also over it. This will have many posibilities with many of the current redstone designs. I take an example and show you how you can improve your superfast piston elevator.

@zhulslab See how I implemented it into the Piston elevator. One of my major annoyances with the old design was having to wire it over on every level by using a wire that loops around the setup with a repeater.

@MirkoRocks I was mistaken. It was done by BrowsOfSteel, 777Static showcased the design and did a tutorial on it too. I guess all the famous commentators have made this design somewhere along their lets play series. I know tyken did so too.

Are you sure etho showed it? I think tyken did…?

Don’t quite understand the point. Ok, the glowstone allows you to step up (which was hard to do before, repeaters only allow a step down without interference), but the torches are still propagating the signal - if you move that torch ladder one up you get the same result without glowstone. No?
Think glowstone is interesting because it allows more compressed wires, let’s say to control a 10 high Jeb door (without a torch ladder and) without a mess of wires.

@zhulslab you can see glowstone as a diode. a block that will allow power past it in one direction depending on how you place it. another thing is that it will make vertical repetetive designs a lot easyer to build, a lot cleaner and compacter. there are still many things that i haven’t found out yet but i am sure glowstone will be an important part in many of the new or improved redstone contraptions.

@eedze Yes, but what’s the benefit of using glowstone after a torch ladder in here?
