If you call someone a “fucking a clown” and then claim afterwards, “it was only a joke!” then you clearly have a problem. He was probably very upset after being called “a fucking clown” and there was nothing to suggest that it was a joke. It wasn’t funny either, and even if it had been funny, you were being funny at the expense of another person, which is not a sign of a good character.
