Modded Minecraft #4 Solar Panels and Batbox!
In the fourth episode of ‘Modded Minecraft w/ Docm77 & Monkeyfarm’, we’re using all our coal to power our generator, and we need to improve our energy efficiency. We’ll make a batbox to increase energy storage, and solar panels to make some ‘free’ power. Enjoy! We planned to play Tekkit, but decided with the upcoming ‘Feed the Beast’ modpack… This has the same mods as Tekkit, but has the full support of the mod-makers, Docm77: www.youtube.com Monkeyfarm: www.youtube.com Currently installed Mods: Buildcraft 2 Industrial Craft 2 Red Power 2 Forestry Railcraft Iron Chests Code Chicken Core NEI NEI Plugins Wireless Redstone We want the community to be involved with this series, so please give us your feedback and suggestions. We welcome them all! Enjoy! Info about the upcoming Feed The Beast Pack: www.feed-the-beast.com http Info about Tekkit: www.technicpack.net

Other things you should know: Storage units (Batbox, MFE, MFSU) have 5 inputs and 1 output. Wrench rotates the output, or if you wrench the output it removes machine. Later you’ll need transformers to step down EU as needed. They have 1 input and 5 outputs. 1st Tier EU devices use RE batteries, 2nd Tier use Energy Crystals (made of diamond) and 3rd Tier use expensive Lapis and Glowstone upgraded Lapotron crystals. Also there are 4 basic electric machines:Furnace, Macerator, Compressor, Extractor

monkey!
Hey man, If you decide to create a thermal energy power source get some blaze rods as they allow you to get infinite lava from the Nether

Monkey, do you guys have Equivalent Exchange in your mod? When you had the search filter looking up chests I didn’t see Alchemical Chests. Those are MUCH cheaper than the equivalent industrialcraft chests. Also, if you do have EE, I have a suggestion as to the next things you guys should build to increase your resource acquisition. Divining Rods and Alchemical Bags. The 1st tier Divining Rod is VERY cheap and easy to build. Alchemical bags are tougher but give you immense mobile storage.

Hey Monkey. Haven’t checked other comments, but just FYI a few things you may find useful at this stage: 1 Coal = 4000EU. 1 Solar = 1EU/tick during day. Doesn’t work in rain. Solars can be crafted into array units. 8 Solars = 1 LV Solar Array which produces 8EU/t. 8 LV arrays craft into a MV array. 8 MV arrays craft into a HV array that gives 512EU/t which is awesome. Also study maximum voltage amounts on the cables and machines or you may lose some items. Also, Electric Furnace and overclocker!

Hey monkey, keep in mind that the batbox has a side with a dot on it. That’s the output, if you don’t put the cables from there, then you wouldn’t be able to emit power to your machines. The rest of the sides are input. You can change the direction of the dot with a wrench
