how do the mobs spawn on a fire block? isn’t the light level too high for
them to spawn on a fire block?

Xisuma, the about section says on the video schedule nothing about FTL and
RCT2. Can you either update it or comment the new one in the chat?

So if they spawn on a pressure plate, it activates immediately? It could be
useful for farms

Them spawning in fire was unexpected, i did not expect it cuz fire gives of
a light level, right? ._.

Mobs can spawn inside doors!

Wait, how come mobs are spawning in fire when it emits light?

Ok, that totally explains my bats & baby zombies in walls problem. Looks
like I need to change out static levers for redstone blocks wherever
possible.

how can they even spawn on the fire? shouldn’t the light level of the fire
prevent spawning???

so in my single player world I have a hostile mob spawner like the one
mumbo had in hermitcraft 2, but nothing seems to spawn… even though I
afk for one hour in y 250 or so (with spawner at y 200). this happened
after I switched to 1.8 does anyone have a solution?

Why do they spawn even though there is so much light from the fire?
November 3rd, 2014 at 8:32 AM
The mobs spawn on fire because a fresh world hasn’t updated the light
levels from the fire. If they get updated then the game will update the
light level :-)

It’s weird that they spawn in fire. I guess light levels only affect the
blocks around the fire block, not the one that the fire is on.
I’ve also heard that mobs don’t spawn above a certain height. Monkeyfam
also mentioned that mobs won’t spawn above the nether in 1.8.1.
One more thing: do mobs spawn on mushroom block?
Thank you :)

I didnt understand the fire.. doesnt it provides light? or is it not
enought to stop them spawning?
