The first monostable circiuit you used would have worked just fine… just attach a repeater to the output and set it to 4 tics… that will make the dispenser work… I have had the same trouble with trying to activate dispensers with monostable circuits… the pulse is simply too short…

Probably because he’s only got to look at one thing – the state of the lever – to figure out whether it’s on and off. Maybe because it looks neater?

another way you could show if the system is on, you could put a redstone lamp where the glow stone is next to your lever to make it easier to tell when the system is on and off.
