I didn’t know size of beacon effected its range, so it never crossed my mind

There will be a 1.7.3 but im not sure mojang will notice this while they are busy at minecon :-)

The effects of a beacon are split into two groups, primary and secondary

when you remove the blocks the effect will stop and then start again :-)
