Minecraft – Crash Landing #27: Reactor Disaster
Minecraft hardcore survival. We have crash landed in a hot, dusty, and empty minecraft world… and we must survive and thrive against the elements. This modpack is available from the FTB…

Etho you should make a clone factory. In it you should have rows of Etho
clones.

we’re missing coolant” 0.0
22:51 “Its using up the fuel… it’s really hot… I think it’s because we
also need a coolant” ;_;
Etho, I’m quite sure reactors blow up. I forgot which reactor mod was in
Tekkit but apparently those were extremely destructive and could make a
huge crater. You really shouldn’t have put that right next to your base if
you don’t know if it blows up or not… especially because almost all of
your items are only about 30 blocks away from that reactor.

Three nether brick dungeons? All triangles? Triangles have 3 sides…
Illuminati confirmed.

Etho, you are making an actively cooled reactor, which doesn’t make power,
but superheats water into steam for railcraft of minefactory reloaded
steam generators. if you remove the coolant port, you will make a passively
cooled reactor where if you make a bigger than 3×3 reactor, the empty
blocks can be gold or cyroetheum, which reduces heat, and increases power
output, where you can put an energy conduit up on the power tap to get TONS
of power.

I think you should finish up this and start a single player mod like
direwolf20 mod pack. Be a lot more fun to watch. I mean this is fun but
soooooo much sand…

for the reactor to work you need to actually put the coolant stuff *inside*
the reactor, with a bucket. The coolant port is used in steam reactors,
which output no power but a fluid called steam. Technically, your reactor
is working but you did put a coolant port on it, making it believe it is
made for doing steam.
Now for the personnal part, you disapoint me, Etho. It’s been a few vidéos
like this where you try to do something and end up not documentating
yourself on this. I know it’s difficult, and i wont blame you for this, but
i am used to the old etho who read everything on the thing he’s building.
Please bring back the old Etho.

Etho, I am sure you already found out but to get power you need to get rid
of the reactor coolant port, the coolant port is used to make the advanced
turbine setup.

Under 301! I’m actually the 300th view.
WOO!

Placing a Coolant Port in your reactor will make it generate steam from
water which then can be pumped into a turbine. Removing the Coolant Port
will make the reactor produce energy directly from the yellorium, which is
not as efficient, but since water is scarce in Crash Landing, it’s probably
a better solution. Also, I’m pretty sure the reactor can’t blow up.

1. These particular reactors will not explode
2. Coolant is unnecessary and is often ill advised, as a hot reactor is a
more efficient reactor.
3. If you WANT coolant, then you have to turn the fluid valve to import
mode.
4. I would suggest making a larger reactor (4×4 should keep you set for
life unless you want to use lasers).
5. When making a larger reactor you will have to physically fill the
interior with coolants and such. (Like actually place the blocks and such)

Uh oh…. The title doesn’t sound so friendly…
January 1st, 2015 at 5:42 AM
Etho, to fix your pressure problem, you need to add Chunk Loaders and Spot
loaders to keep the pipes loaded. The pressure builds up and the pipe
explodes because the valve is not loaded
