    bud switches are powered diagonaly in this case the lever then the redatone causes a redstone update inatead of a block update

    The redstone updates the water under the dispenser, which updates dispenser while getting diagonal power from the level. So yeah, a BUD Switch.

    What happens is the active dispenser is waiting for a block to place lava on so when you put redstone on the ground where you are putting it, the dispenser detects a block underneath then dispenses the lava
