Love your videos

how was this tested?
I would recommend posting some proof of sort on your channel.

Thankyou finally someone that uses proper grammar on YouTube

This is not true, if you pause the video and use the arrow keys to forward the video slowly you can clearly see the signal is not instant.

I titled it ‘almost instant’ on my original, mcdn titled it differently

I’m not the only one. There are others, but they’re pretty hard to find.

I double-checked, the video seems to be filmed at 20fps, it takes 3 frames for the output to turn on.
This means the wire takes 3 game ticks or 1.5 redstone ticks to activate if the framerate is correct. While a redstone torch/repeater takes 2 game ticks or 1 redstone tick to activate.

transmitting signal with trip wire is incredibly handy for redstoners i would imagine. I am a hardcore redstoner and I thought it very useful.

Dont see the point of using this?

thanks bro :)

the fps is no clear indication. This was tested by someone for me. it had an average delay of 0.05005 seconds

you have to admit the mic sucks I can hear you breathing…

I thought the time was extended to 2.0 redstone ticks in 1.3.
I would think it might take 1 redstone tick for the piston to extend then 0.5 redstone ticks for the wire to react.
You should put 20 of them in a row and slow down the framerate and see how long it takes.

You should inform them of this, isn’t the delay something like 1.5 ticks? which is actually slower then a repeater?

the one who tested it is a very reliable source and hence I did not question the matter. they have looked into the mc source code for me a few times for different matter so
yeah

I bought a new mic, i’m a uni student so cant afford anything better
August 19th, 2012 at 9:27 AM
no it’s 1 game tick or half a redstone tick. The piston does not fully extend when it hits the plate

hahah fine. if not an idiot, then you’re ignorant. You can’t tell people to stick around for a while when you haven’t yourself. you can also use ur brain and look on the channel and you can see how long it’s been around. And if I’m going to be mean… WHY THE FUCK does it need to be with correct grammar? If I was trying to sound smart or nice then I understand. But i’m replying to a dumbass on YouTube… WHY DOES IT NEED TO BE IN CORRECT GRAMMAR? who gives a fuck?
August 19th, 2012 at 9:39 AM
I am not exactly sure how he tested it I will be honest. it takes 1.5 ticks for a piston to completely extend, but the wire is triggered long before the piston is fully extended.
