I doubt that Mojang would sell there game for 2 billion dollars, Minecraft
is worth way more than that.

First of all, this has not happened yet. We do not even know if it is real
or simply a rumor. Secondly MS owning MC is a really BAD idea. They are on
the opposite scale from Mojang and by extension the community. Oh MS might
pretend a while. But in the end they will somehow frack things up. They
allways do. In the end the only thing MS care about is the money. BUT as I
said; we do not know if this a thing to begin with. So let’s stay cool and
see what happens. But if I were you all I would turn off the launcher auto
update and then make an archive of 1.8 and what ever favourite mod packs
you use at the moment. Maybe even download older versions of MC in the
launcher. Simply to be on the safe side.

I hope to God that this doesn’t happen. One of Mojang’s charms is that
they’re an indie company that, in the past 4 years, have made MILLIONS of
dollars. They didn’t need the help of any big company to get Minecraft
developed or sold! It was all them(and Minecraft YouTubers, technically)!
And it’s not like they NEED the $2,000,000,000. Like Notch said, they can
develop games for 10 years and not have any income. I can only see
Microsoft fucking the whole thing up. I DON’T want Mojang to become an
underling of some big company.
