Map Height Bug w/ Portals – Minecraft 1.1+1.2
I noticed a small bug related to the increase map height in Minecraft 1.1 + 1.2 (the snapshots 12w07a, 12w07b, and 12w08a). I had built a floating island above the old sky-cap in my LP map, but the portals would not return to the correct portal location up on the floating island… they would create a new portal near down at ground level. After some further testing, I realized that they have not yet updated portals to enable them to teleport you anywhere above the old sky-cap map height. Thanks for the bug info, but that has to be the most beautiful seed I’ve ever seen. I want to recreate Skyrim villages in it.

Mhm, I think it’s probably because they didn’t change the building limit in the nether so when you go there the portal is created where it can be created and, obviously, it teleport you in the place that is relative to the portal in the nether (because for those of you who don’t know portals are not created randomly).

that what i did in SMP, go in portal. tell my friend to seal it with water, go back… TA DA another portal
