@paulsoaresjr I recently picked this game up myself (from the indie bundle, only game out of the pack I was really interested in) and upon starting the game I got a really early beta Minecraft feel vibe, dropped in the middle of no where with no explanation of how or what to do.
This video was really helpful with understanding some stuff, but I’d love to see a Let’s Play of it, especially in your style! Would also be a nice change to explain exactly how to play the game XD

how old are your kids?

Been playing this for a few hours now. I have a humble suggestion to the the dev if he’s reading this.
One of the things that kind of bugs me about the game is that I have noticed that I spend more time searching for quest givers than anything else.
Just thought I’d throw my two cents in. :) I like the game overall though.

great to see indie games being developed and supported. But Paul, I kinda liked to see you and your kids continue to play Civ 5.

@phr00t I am as many an uneducated amateur then we talk about programing. I heard java isn’t good for 3D games because a lot of the language needs to be complied/translated… through the graphics-card and slowdown the performance a lot. In short Java isn’t really a good choice. If you like to take your time and may explain that to me. You know, if you have friends who study this it is hard to argue against them.
February 29th, 2012 at 8:26 AM
how do you
get it to run so fast?
February 29th, 2012 at 8:31 AM
@phr00t
> Java is actually pretty fast,
Yeah… on gaming equip. it may be. But generally it’s slow as hell and wastes memory, as if there was some magical spring present, poopin’ out RAM modules.
The idea of Java is honorable but flawed. An easy to use programming language, that runs in it’s own environment can not possible be faster than any system compiled language. Also pretty close speeds? 1.7 to 2.0 times diff. (with C++) is pretty close?
Java is anything, but not the answer…

@mw2legitmaster Paul didn’t make this. A guy who calls himself Phroot (or Phr00t?) did. He wrote it in Java.

Hi, I’m new to YouTube and I could really could just use some constructive critisism, I really don’t know whether my video’s are completely awful or are ok. I would really appreciate some feedback, if you have the time that would be great.

what did you use to make the game?
