I would like to point out that the spawn chunks can have up to 13×13 chunks
that still process entitys. This is the case if the world spawn is exactly
at the center of a chunk. Using the method with the item trail and waiting
5 minutes in the nether on every side will still give you the correct
boarder, thats why this method is perfect to be sure.

Does going to the nether work? I thought going to the nether causes the
spawn chunks to unload too? Isn’t that exactly why you need a portal for
the Titan and the Foundry?

What do you mean by “no passive mobs will spawn if the player is in range
by 240″ blocks?

Incpomplete tutorial in my opinion, there were lots of things you forgot to
mention, I know everything about spawnchunks myself so for me it isn´t a
problem, but for people who are new to spawnchunks I highly derecommend
this tutorial.

So i got this problem on our SMP server. We’ve marked out the chunks ect.
and it just wont work. They aren’t loaded instantly. Only when we’re in the
area. I’ve tried everything my friend, and no it isn’t something i missed
in this tutorial cause since we started the map, it never worked. Everyone
spawned in the area, and we have done everything needed, but nothing works.
If you have gotten this problem and know how to solve it aswell, please let
me know i would really appreciate it, cause we really want some great
farms! ;) Thanks for reading.

Is there any way to (without using creative mode or an inventory or world
editor) place water in the nether? I know that back in Release 1.2.5 you
could place ice and break it to get water in the nether but that was fixed
in release 1.3. Does any such means exist for release 1.8?

Very very secret hidden tip: Only use emerald blocks to mark the spawn
chunks ;)! Otherwise it will not work :P.

Now I feel bad for not making my iron golem farm in the spawn chunks, its a
JL one that doesn’t break, it means its only producing iron when I’m there
:/ maybe I will have to move it so I get iron 24/7. Will it always be
working If I build it in the spawn chunks?

Great video! Dose this only apply for worlds generated in 1.8? If not, have
the spawn chunks always been 12×12?
