You’re 3 blocks tall when on a horse, so what I did was make an underground stable with a tunnel leading out, with tripwire stretched across the top blocks in either direction, controlling a set of fence gates. That way, horses can’t get out, mobs can’t get in, but I cand get in and out automatically when I ride a horse
