What I’ve always wondered: Does changing the time affect your (local)
difficulty? If it would it is kinda cheaty…

Nice work, +xisumavoid! A couple of inside-baseball questions, if you don’t
mind:
– With 1.8 out, do the camera accounts go into gamemode 3, or do they stay
in creative? If spectator, do the camera account’s presence affect the
cycling of the day/night cycle when beds are used? I didn’t think they did.
– As I expected to see when I scrolled down during your explanation of the
/time set and /toggledownfall allowances, the majority simply don’t care
much, but those that do object vehemently. I guess my primary concern is
the “slippery slope” argument. If commands are allowed for this one thing,
what happens when there’s a logical reason to allow the next thing, and the
next, and the one that follows? What process is put in place to keep it
from becoming, “Oh, I need 50 stacks of cobblestone for this next build…
well, it’ll help the recording process if I just /give it to myself rather
than delay the recording for resource gathering?”
– Can anyone on the server /time set and /toggledownfall, or are there just
certain people with the ability to do it?
After all that, the video was really good – probably one of your best, and
the competition is fierce there. The laws of supply and demand may dictate
that your prices in the prismarine shop drop some now though… :)

fuck… time goes by so fast. I remember the first episode of hermitcraft
II, were xisuma said “I am a bit tired of vanilla, so I’m probably not
going to be playing much on here” and then half slabbed an entire ravine xD

You could add a small simple plugin that allows you to just set the visual
weather and time for just your recording character … ^^

EDIT: The hate for my sharing my opinion is crazy. This is why Youtube
sucks.
I’m really upset about the time setting thing… Why not just give camera
accounts night vision?
September 21st, 2014 at 9:26 AM
I totally feel where you are coming from with weather and time commands. It
okay to use them for camera purposes as it makes the video clearer,
allowing us to enjoy it more. And I understand how annoying it can be to
set everything up, then do it all again because it is night time.
Using them for the players benefit shouldn’t be allowed, but my benefit is
fine.

“for recording purposes”. You’re aware that night vision exists, right? As
for the weather, I’m fine with that as long as it’s only for the video, not
the audio.

So this is no longer a survival server
September 21st, 2014 at 9:40 AM
This is not Mindcrack, I think it’s perfectly acceptable to change the time
or weather for recording purposes.

It is supposed to be a solid block under the fence from the item elevator
:)
