I dont think you should turn it to a mesa biome because the sky color would
stay blue so it wont look the same if changed….

you should take some inspiration from red dead redemption and sort of
incorporate some buildings and things into the mesa. you don’t need to have
a second base in the mesa but just a small shanty/town would be pretty
awesome to see when you go through there. Notch might even add tumbleweeds
later on that you can place or let roll around and it would be a shame if
they had nowhere to tumble.

You should make an entire western outpost out there! Like keep the saloon
and add an Inn, and shops perhaps. Just for the people who take the rail
out there. I think it could be awesome.
