Budswitch activated minecart station
i’ve been messing around a bit with minecart tracks and noticed something wierd going on. it seems like a bug but i hope anyone can use this design. basically what it does is indirectly power a powertrack without actually applying power towards it. feel free tp contact me for a scematic

An experiment I did: take away the block the piston was pushing. The rail was still powered. Replace the piston with a note block. The rail was still powered. Finally, put a regular block (I used sandstone) diagonal to the block the rail is on and power it. Guess what? The rail was powered.

@princekamoro i tried a few things because i already suspected something like that. but if i only put a button there. nothing happens when i hit it I. also tried to rewire it so that the piston is activated from a different direction. and it doesn’t work either. only with this kind of setup i am able to power the powertrack

@eedze 1.0.0. Further experimenting showed that the button also has to be diagonal to the rail. Also, for the block to be powered, redstone has to either be pointing at the block without a corner or there must be redstone on top of the block. If you did that and it didn’t work, then I don’t know why our games are working differently.

Powered rail can receive power from blocks diagonally above and to the side of them. I do it a lot with redstone torches. In this case it looks like they are receiving power from the button blocks.
