Perhaps you could make a minecart track through the nether and go look for a nether fortress far away?

Use single player commands to hack in a pig spawner then change its type.
P.S. you had a bucke t in one of the chests that you missed.

since you can take the nether save out, can you put a regular world save in its spot so instead of a portal to the nether its a portal to a different world?

Just delete the DIM-1 folder in the saves folder in .minecraft. Then u have a new nether. :D

You can use MC edit [its a program that you can load your world and put anyfing that you want .. Spawners(pig,zombie, every fing..)and yaa thats it..]

I suggest hacking a pig spawner in and changing it with a mod called spawner GUI
