If you still want to play a game like this you should check out SpaceChem as it has a mode for building factories to produce certain chemicals (the whole game is about making machines for making various chemicals). I’m not so sure about the game’s video potential though.

Ha, never expected you would react, just because you are quite famous here.
However, I think even games that are in Alpha should have some modding (Think of minecraft) and it also gives the developers ideas for the game (Again, think of minecraft: Hoppers, Pistons).
Just send me a PM or even post your ideas here, It would be a honour to make a mod for you :)

Yes, modding support needs time develop, that is why we started with the support so soon.

Hey Xisuma,
Appently Factorio is programmed with my favorite laguage, and I might be able to make any kind of mod you want for it.
If you are interested, please contact me, if not, Oh well.

Yes, but don’t forget, that this is freeplay, this is kind of playground where you can test everything. Players are going to be faced with the challenge scenario pack, and other missions when they need to think much more economically. (Not even talking about multiplayer)

When the game is finished, i think that would be the best time to mod it :-) But hit me up then maybe i could share some ideas!

@justinvaderleig factorio isnt programmed with your favourite language, and if it is, you cant mod it.
Factorio is programmed with c or c++ no sure, but it uses lua for the mods and the control, because it is an interpretation language, that makes it easier to use, and lua works perfectly with c or c++ (is mainly used to do so)

The more I see of this game, the more I wonder why all these huge setups have to be so wasteful. So many ingredients and half-fabricates get backed up, blocking production, which makes the extra production stations mostly useless. The real challenge of this game would be researching and building everything without these huge setups and overflow.

hello everyone! :D Have a nice day! :)

Great videos!
BTW steam power generators work better in series than parallel. Otherwise they try pumping water back and forth to engines with water demand.
Water takes a while to change direction so this messes up the whole parallel setup.
In series is much more stable, especially when lasers start firing.
