This will help out many “newbies” or new players who just plays for fun, and doesn’t know anything technical about Minecraft. Got to admit, getting a beacon isn’t easy for new players.

search the minecraft forums for amidst, it’s a mapping tool for minecraft, enter your seed into the program and it will show the biomes in your world, strongholds, nether fortressess etc.

I mean when it comes out, people like us who watches Xisuma, Etho or many commentators are more familiar with the Wither than people who just plays Minecraft with their friends for fun. People like those, like my friends, wouldn’t be able to easily get a beacon since it’s really time consuming to just wait for W Skeletons to spawn naturally in fortresses and drop 3 skulls. Let’s just say I was wrong. I’d not want to start an argument because this seems to be heading toward one.

How could anyone be more than a ‘newbie’ to withers? They just came out? Know one is ‘experienced’ with them yet I think even xisuma would admit that even he is only slightly familiar with them.

No – As long as the block you’re using is a “spawnable” block; example = Cobblestone; you shouldn’t have any problems with the Wither Skeletons spawning; Bear in mind that you must build your platforms in the same location as a Nether Fortress. I hope I’ve helped you? :-)

He mentioned in the video that it was a “mock up” – in other words that isn’t a real Nether Fortress… he probably used MCEdit or some other third-party program to cut and paste a Nether Fortress from another location. I hope I’ve helped you? :-)

Great tutorial, Etho is currently building a high efficiency piston based farm similar to the Ender Ender. He is making it at the fortress which he has been clearing for some time. I can’t wait to see it in action.
