also there’s a trick where you run the minecart at a chest before letting it drop past a cactus, as the chest has the same dimensions as a cactus; it pops the cart without destroying the cart-object for some reason

I saw a video where a guy had the minecart run into a chest before falling straight down and hitting the edge of a cactus. The chest is ostensibly exactly the same size as the cactus and thus prevents the cart item from hitting the cactus. I haven’t tried it myself, so take this with a grain of salt.

you can fix the cactus by letting it go up 2 block and have 2 chest(preferred ender chest because the other chests have a wonky hit box) on top of the cactus, the chest help to align the cart so the cactus wont destroy it!
