Which is why it’s pretty insane how successful YouTube is as a business. Etho’s gotten 10 million views in the past 30 days. On a $1 CPM, I can tell you that’s $10k. Since Etho’s a big YouTuber, you can expect $20-$30k. That’s per month. Pewdipie makes over €100k per month, so around $150k-$200k. You’d be surprised how much big YouTubers make. Not only from views, but merchandise and creating your own website is a huge source of income as well.

Hey Etho, you have said in previous videos that you make money off the ads on your videos, but I have looked up that method of making money and ask.com has told me that the only way to make money off youtube is through becoming a youtube partner, explain

Are you basing that on the idea that people normally work harder at making something better if they get less money for it? Can you point me to the quality content your referring to which was uploaded to YouTube before view monetization was implemented?

Interesting comparison. I’m still sceptical to whether it’s that easy.

…Angry Video Game Nerd?…Retsupurae?…AMVs from back then?…tolerable and SMART discussions about issues of feminism and equality and crap that generally isn’t even allowed to be talked about now without the slightest person getting offended and getting the video taken down?…the list goes on and on. Unless you have a time machine you aren’t going to get a full one.
Now just so you know I’m going to bed. And so as not to clutter up Etho’s vid any furhter you might wanna PM me.

And why not?

First off, where did I say I didn’t like youtube? Secondly, economy would not crash without youtube.

I sure as hell had enough time to do my Let’s Plays while I had a normal job.

Yeah, and you know what? The “years with the fewest videos” as you call them were the best.

TV… license? Wha?

I enjoy this series a lot; I think it’s great to see the three of you guys playing together again. And to all of you complaining about the series being a group thing; The first and second Uncharted Territories he played solo. He’s just trying to mix it up some. Go watch UT 1 and 2 if you want solo. :D

My computer can’t use that.

Because of how many views he gets per month…? Let’s put it this way. Sourcefed, the channel, gets less views than Etho, and with the money they make from their channel, they can afford to send the directors across country for interviews, rent a very large studio, hire interns, pay all the staff, buy expensive equipment and electronic items, and this is with a smaller YouTube budget than Etho’s. He is making… quite a bit. He could be making way more too, but he’s a simple guy.

Shut up, dad.

Apart from your stupid ideology which will result in the economy crashing and nothing advancing as you might like it how is is; if you don’t like it, don’t use it.
October 8th, 2013 at 9:33 AM
“your stupid ideology” not youtube alone, learn to read.
And you have been saying that you don’t like aspects of it such as the ads, etc. If you don’t want to see them there are ways around them through the use of software or not using the site at all.
If you do like the site as you just said then don’t complain about it.
So; “if you don’t like it, don’t use it.” or if you do like it, don’t complain about it.
That’s all I’m saying, that is the end of it.

Are you really trying to argue that the amount of time you put into something won’t affect the quality? You’re an artist! Surely you know you can’t rush a drawing and have it be of the same quality as something you spent hours on!
The more time you spend recording, the more quality footage you will have to edit into the final video. If you have a job then you don’t always have time to record/edit, so the final video will be worse than if you were a full-time Youtuber, regardless of who you are.

The key word is “supposedly”. I question whether you know how much money he gets from Youtube.
